The Movie God   |  @   |

In case you haven’t been following the madness of a proposed Wonder Woman anything, allow us to catch you up quickly!

First up came the hopes for a big feature film adaptation with Joss Whedon behind the script. This never worked out in the end. When a movie didn’t work, it was decided to try and make a new Wonder Woman TV series with showrunner David E. Kelley, but soon after that it was revealed that efforts to obtain positive attention on the show from networks was weak and the project was once again dead. Then, out of nowhere, NBC had one of their little urges, and decided to pick up the pilot episode of Wonder Woman for themselves and see where things went.

Now that you’re all caught up, all that’s left is who’s the actress to finally bring Wonder Woman back to the screen? Well, the answer has been revealed, and it’s now up to you to decide whether she’s a good choice or not.

Deadline is reporting that Adrianne Palicki has been cast in the iconic superhero role, which has been one of the most desired female roles of recent memory with stars of the screen, big and small, vying for the job.

Palicki is best known from her role on Friday Night Lights, and can also be seen in movies like Legion and the upcoming Red Dawn remake. She also plays to the geek crowd, offering up her voice multiple times in Robot Chicken and also on Family Guy.

Palicki is blonde in most images you’ll find, so it’s a little tricky to gauge whether she has the look or not. But apart from that, what do you think of the casting choice for Wonder Woman?

  1. I don’t know about this pairing. I Googled “Adrianne Palicki” and based on the results, she doesn’t give me that Amazonian vibe. All of her facial expressions make me think she’s more of an innocent schoolgirl who’d be better cast as Supergirl instead. Not someone strong and potentially fierce like Wonder Woman. She’s got height though and I’m sure black hair will bring her closer to the character’s appearance, but I want to see a more mature and serious looking WW. Start working on that Blue Steel or Magnum look!

  2. Palecki is a good, solid actress as evidenced by her performances on Friday Night Live.

  3. The problem I see with this choice, is not that Adrianne Palicki is blonde, that can be fixed rather easily. The problem is that she’s as flat as a board. No boobs and barely any hips on her.

I know, that sounds so shallow. But I just expected them to at least choose someone that had that “amazon” vibe to her. Someone that made you go GRAAAWL!

However, all this is irrelevant if the show has no good writers and production values. We’ll see.
