Key of ZIndie comics company Evil Ink! Comics announced a plethora of information of last week in preparation for the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con.

Announced were a brand new website, a new series, and a video game adaptation of the popular Amory Wars franchise that is closely tied to the company, as well as the founder’s band Coheed and Cambria. So, let’s take a look at the details of the announcements.

After using the official website for The Amory Wars and Kill Audio comics, Evil Ink! now has a dedicated company website at EverythingEvilInk.com that is sure to divide attention between the growing number of series attached to the publisher, including the newly announced Key of Z.

There was an ad for Key of Z in the finale issue of The Amory Wars: In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3, and was mentioned under a different name on our Comics of Doom podcast here, but with this announcement we’ve received a little bit more information. Claudio Sanchez and Chondra Echert, and Aaron Kuder will be the creative minds that are melding the zombie story of Key of Z. Sanchez and Echert were also the writing force behind Kill Audio, and this marks the first pairing of the husband and wife writing duo since the wrap up of that series. The artist, Kuder, who has recently wrapped up work from The Amory Wars, has a specific style that meshes perfectly with Sanchez’ writing style. So, I’m more than stoked for this comic to hit shelves in October. Plus, if you’re in San Diego for Comic-Con later this week, you have a chance of being drawn in to the upcoming comic! Here’s information from the official release:

A NEW ZOMBIE STORY ANNOUNCED FOR FALL FROM BOOM! STUDIOS
A brand new mini-series co-written by Sanchez and wife Chondra Echert, follows Ewing– a once proud father and holder of a special gift– across a post-zombie-apocalyptic New York City as he seeks revenge on the two warring gangs who murdered his family. Coming from BOOM! Studios this October, with interior art from The Amory Wars’ Aaron Kuder, cover Art by Nathan Fox and a variant by The WALKING DEAD’s Tony Moore. Key Of Z promises to be a visually stunning dramatic tale.

Next up, we have the mind-blowing announcement of an Amory Wars video game for the iPhone and iPad. Fans of the comic and the story behind Coheed and Cambria’s music must be falling out of their seats after this news, I know I am. The Amory Wars is an epic four-part tale of a reluctant man destined to save the universe by fighting the worst of all evils in a world rich with sci-fi landscapes and monsters. The story is engaging and fun, so the video game can only add a much welcomed layer of experience with the tale. Fans have been clamoring for a movie for years now, but honestly, I think a video game is an even better route. If you stop by the Evil Ink! booth at SDCC, then have a look at some of the conceptual art.

Other goodies are also available at Evil Ink!’s booths at San Diego, like the brand new trade for The Amory Wars as well as a Key of Z art lithograph from cover artist Nathan Fox.

Sanchez and Echert will be on-site during the San Diego Comic-Con at booth #1031 (remember Halloween 10-31) to sign and chat on 3 p.m. Thursday, 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1 p.m. on Sunday. For more details on this and more, go to the new Evil Ink! Website.

Tell them I said “hi”, because I can’t go. Now, go feel bad for me now and leave your thoughts in the comments section below!
