Talk about a way to start a week.
Deadline is reporting that Matthew Vaughn will indeed be back to helm the upcoming sequel to his fantastic film, X-Men: First Class.
The sequel doesn’t have a start date as of the writing of this post, but frankly, the anticipation couldn’t get much higher. The cast and crew seem to be stuck within their rightly busy schedules (names like Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence don’t have much free time after all), so a 2013 start seems likely, but at this point, nothing is certain.
As a huge fan of the first film, I really can’t wait for this sucker. With Vaughn proclaiming that he wants to start his sequel with Fassbender’s Magneto assassinating JFK, we frankly have absolutely no idea what to expect here. And honestly, that’s what makes this film so interesting. With those expectations located in a realm of uncertainty, one has to imagine that Vaughn has something really special in store for us.
