The Avengers hits theaters in less than three days, so Disney is pushing the marketing pedal all the way to the floor. Joss Whedon‘s superhero action ensemble movie is much more than a gathering of some of the greatest heroes in the Marvel cinematic universe, its makes for a great case study on dysfunctional families.
Now a new featurette has popped online and it features the director detailing the in-fighting within The Avengers. (Watch it here below.) In a movie that is filled with some of the greatest heroes known to man, a few egos are bound to clash, and that is what Joss Whedon would like to explain in the latest featurette that centers on a vital fight scene between Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth).
Whedon says the scenes asks “Who’s the stronger? Who’s going to get it done?” He adds that both have an agenda that conflicted with the others, and the most important thing about the film was that the fight had to be earned. Having already seen the film, I can tell you that the fight was more than earned.
The Avengers has already declared itself as a worldwide success and this featurette will only excite domestic viewers more as the release date comes closer. The Avengers hits theaters in 3D and IMAX 3D on May 4th.
