As has become customary, Michael Bay and friends don’t make a big deal out of casting announcements, often times just letting fans know via Bay’s website or on the Twitter.
When it comes to Bay’s Transformers 4, we’ve already heard about Mark Wahlberg being cast, followed by the announcement of Jack Reynor. Now comes word of the actress chosen to play the female lead, Nicola Peltz.
The announcement came when someone on Twitter asked whether Megan Fox might return. The official Michael Bay website’s Twitter account responded that she wouldn’t be, and that the female lead had already been cast. Someone else then demanded to know who, and easy as that they shared the name.
Peltz has been seen playing Katara in M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, and also has a role as Norman Bates’ friend in the new A&E show Bates Motel.
She was also one of the names mentioned as potential actors for the movie back in November.
Transformers 4 will arrive in theaters on June 27, 2014.
