One of the most fun things you’ll see on the con floor at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con is happening at Booth #3528 where Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is promoting their upcoming limited edition 3D Blu-ray release for the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger film Predator.
Convention goers can go to the booth and have their photo taken, where you’ll then be made to look like the victim of the Predator. Then, using 3D printing technology, a customized figurine will be created that looks like the Predator alien is holding your severed head. That’s so badass!
Oh, more importantly, the Predator is hanging out at the booth in its familiar jungle setting (see the photo I snapped of him here below.)
Anyhow, about that figurine – there is a catch: you can only get your figurine if you purchase the Predator Blu-ray 3D, which is exclusively available for pre-order at the convention and is packaged in a limited edition Predator head (for $129.99). You can also receive the figurine with the purchase of a “headless” Blu-ray 3D for $49.99.
Also, if you head to the booth, you’ll get a first look at the all-new 3D transfer of the film before it arrives on Blu-ray 3D later this year. And there’s also “Hunt the Predator” challenge where fans who find the Predator, take a photo, and upload it to their social media pages with the official hashtag “#HUNTthePREDATOR” will be entered to receive a front of the line pass at the Predator 3D booth for an exclusive 3D printed figurine.
If you pre-order the Predator at Comic-Con, the product will be shipped when it’s released this December. The custom figurine will be shipped following the convention.
