Black Metal Band Watain Soaks Audience In Blood; TMZ Thinks That’s News (Video)

Paparazzi gossip site TMZ is reporting that pigs blood was thrown out into the audience at a heavy metal concert in Brooklyn last weekend. Look out, people, this is a first!!!

Swedish black metal band Watain played on Sunday, June 15, at the Brooklyn Bazaar in Brooklyn, NY, and reportedly threw pigs blood into the audience, soaking the concert-goers. There also may have been some vomiting.

TMZ, apparently enthralled by this occurrence, posted “exclusive” video of the “disgusting” footage of the band bathing their fans in blood as part of their Satanic ritual, which the site claims triggered a “vomit-fest.” Watch the very short video here below, but I want to warn you, there is NO vomit too be seen (sorry to disappoint).

Ok, so let me explain something to you: Metal fans, especially fans of black metal bands, are NOT – I repeat NOT – afraid of having blood thrown on them, and I highly doubt there was any vomit-fest. I have friends who went to the show in Brooklyn (our ‘hood) and they lived to tell about it – wait, I should say, they didn’t tell about it, because as I said before, blood at a show like this is not newsworthy. Yeah, it likely stunk, but hey, this is the stuff that happens at shows like this (meaning concerts with gore, theatrics, and Satan-play).

But, thanks TMZ for giving me a reason to write about Watain!

TMZ should camp out at GWAR shows if they need some gory footage and want to see people covered in blood, because that’s where it’s at right there. I really wish TMZ had been around in the 1980s when Carnivore was still active, it would have given the Brooklyn band, who used to thrown out bloody, raw meat into the crowd – lot more exposure.

As for Watain, the Brooklyn show was the band’s only U.S. appearance for the year, although their record label Century Media Records promises they’ll be back in the States soon (get your video camera ready, TMZ!). The trio will be performing at festivals in Europe throughout the summer in support of their fifth full-length album, The Wild Hunt. You can check out the video for Watain’s video for “Outlaw” here below.
