The DC Cinematic Universe is starting to grow. With Man of Steel planting the seeds, we will see how much their cinematic world will grow with the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice. We got a slight hint at the dark tones the film will have through SDCC posters and teaser reveals – the latter of which WB will likely never show again. And we still haven’t seen Jason Momoa as Aquaman, or Ray Fisher as Cybrog. Or, more importantly, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

If you’ve seen some of the leaked set photos, then you know the level of destruction that will be seen in the film is off the scale. But how did it get to that point? Well, according to a new rumor, it might have something to do with Lex Luthor.

Below are a few spoilers about the upcoming film, so if you don’t want to know about it, I suggest you stay where you are. For those who are interested, continue reading.

GeekTyrant provided the first few morsels of the plot of the film, which include tissue samples from General Zod and Kryptonite.

According to the extra, the ending of the film has already been filmed. One of the scenes shot featured Batman breaking into Lexcorp to steal kryptonite, and apparently Lexcorp had somehow gotten ahold of General Zod’s body.

That’s pretty heavy. While it was inevitable that Kryptonite be introduced into the cinematic canon, General Zod’s body is a huge curve ball. And Badass Digest has dug a little deeper into this, confirming that both parts of GeekTyrant’s report are true.

I can confirm this. Lex has been gathering pieces and debris from the World Engine and he has used them to synthesize Kryptonite. Meanwhile he has also gotten ahold of Zod’s corpse, and it is the key to his master plan to defeat Superman. He uses that tissue to”¦ well, that would be spoiling. But Superman hasn’t been defeated many times in the past. You can probably connect the dots from here.

Now what drives Luthor to defeat Superman in the film is still a mystery. Perhaps he is driven mad by all the destruction caused in Man of Steel, or it is just that the God complex he has that finally starts to kick in when he sees Superman and General Zod.

But what is even more interesting is that in the same Badass Digest article, an image eludes to a powerful and deadly villain. One who has the strength to kill Superman with his own bare hands.

Again, this is all just a rumor at this point, as nothing is confirmed as of yet, although there are already two top sources confirming that these are some of the plot points in the sequel.

Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice opens in theaters March 2016.
