This past weekend at Blizzard Entertainment’s big show BlizzCon in Anaheim, CA, Legendary Pictures and Atlas Entertainment pulled the curtain back on more details about Warcraft, the much-anticipated live-action film adaptation of Blizzard’s popular video game.
Director Duncan Jones appeared on a panel for the film and the characters for the film were revealed, along with some new actors. See the list below of characters and their respective actors, divided up between “Alliance” and “Horde.”
It was also confirmed that Warcraft will be visiting the world of Azeroth as it was in the age of the first war.

The rich history established for the popular series (which eventually spawned into the World of Warcraft) is full of great stories that have been translated not only into game, but into novels and comics as well. In Azerothian history, The First War is set shortly after the arrival of the orcish Horde into the world. The events and outcome of that conflict set the stage for the larger and more monumental Second War.
Warcraft is directed by Duncan Jones and produced by Charles Roven, Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and Alex Gartner. Stuart Fenegan, Jillian Share, Brent O’Connor, with Blizzard Entertainment’s Michael Morhaime and Paul Sams serving as executive producers. The film is set for a March 11, 2016 theatrical release through Universal Pictures.
