Barely a year after it received its first home video release, Oscar-winning filmmaker Alfonso Cuaron‘s critically acclaimed sci-fi smash hit Gravity is being reissued on Blu-ray from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment in a new Diamond Luxe special edition. The Sandra Bullock–George Clooney feature set in the cold depths of outer space will get some brand new special features for this upgrade including a new Dolby Atmos surround sound audio track and the option of watching a “Silent Space Version” of the film that eliminates the music score. The release date is set for February 10, 2015.
The 1980s television series The Equalizer has been reborn as a big screen action-thriller directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Denzel Washington (the latter who a Best Actor Academy Award for his performance in the Fuqua-directed Training Day). Now it will be coming to Blu-ray and DVD from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment just in time to ring in the new year with lots of heavy bloodshed and Denzel being a stone cold badass. December 30, 2014 is the release date and though both versions will share some bonus features the Blu-ray will contain a few exclusive extras:

One of the surprise hits of the summer, Luc Besson‘s sci-fi adventure Lucy, starring Scarlett Johansson in prime ass-kicking form, is coming to Blu-ray and DVD from Universal Studios Home Entertainment on January 20, 2015. Oscar-winner Morgan Freeman and the original Oldboy Min-sik Choi co-star in this mind-bending thriller. Supplements on both editions will include the featurettes “The Evolution of Lucy” and “Cerebral Capacity: The True Science of Lucy.”
Is it science-fiction? Horror? An end of the world parable? A tale of demonic possession? A story of good versus evil? Larry Cohen‘s cult classic God Told Me To is all those things and more and now it’s coming to Blu-ray from Blue Underground on February 24, 2015. The 1976 film starring Tony Lo Bianco (The French Connection) as a New York cop investigating a string of random killing sprees with an otherworldly connection has been restored in 4K high-definition from the original uncensored negative and the Blu-ray will include many new bonus features created exclusively for this edition:

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced a 10th Anniversary Edition of Tim Burton‘s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that will be released on Blu-ray on March 3, 2015. So far the only new extra feature for this edition is a 32-page photobook but if more are revealed we will keep you informed.
The autumn horror hit Annabelle comes to Blu-ray from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on January 20, 2015. Extra features for this prequel to the horror hit The Conjuring will include:

Based on the best-selling crime novel by Lawrence Block, Scott Frank‘s A Walk Among the Tombstones, starring Liam Neeson as Block’s famous New York cop-turned-private eye Matthew Scudder, will premiere on Blu-ray and DVD from Universal Studios Home Entertainment on January 13, 2015. Both editions will include the featurette “A Look Behind the Tombstones” but the Blu-ray will also include an additional featurette, “Matt Scudder: Private Eye.”
One of the nuttiest, most violent exploitation flicks ever made is finally getting a legitimate home video release. The late Duke Mitchell‘s bloody late-’70s gangster saga Massacre Mafia Style has been remastered in high-definition and will make its long-awaited debut on Blu-ray and DVD from Grindhouse Releasing on January 13, 2015. Special features have not yet been confirmed but Grindhouse has been working on this release for years and their titles always come packed with new interviews, commentaries, etc. Expect Massacre to follow suit. From director Michaël R. Roskam comes the Dennis Lehane adaptation The Drop, based on the author’s original story “Animal Rescue” and starring Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, and the late James Gandolfini in one of his final performances. The film will premiere on Blu-ray from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment on January 20, 2015 and include the following extra features:
