Marvel Studios’ Avengers plan was ambitious, but it was a gamble that paid off, and come 2018 and 2019, it will all come together for the two-part film Avengers: Infinity War. The film is said to bring all the heroes of the solo features, and probably Guardians of the Galaxy and maybe the television shows for one mega-ensemble fight against Thanos, The Mad Titan. Since Avengers: Infinity War is being split into two parts, production is going to be one massive undertaking, with the logistics of getting everyone’s schedules coordinated not only during scheduled shooting but also for re-shoots and the inevitable ADR. Now Captain America himself is confirming that the shooting on the two films will be lengthy. According to Chris Evans, filming both parts of Avengers: Infinity War could take as long as nine months to complete.

Air Date: Saturday, April 25th, 2015, 9:00pm Let’s recap last week’s Outlander, before we get to this week’s review. Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Geillis (Lotte Verbeek) were defendants at a witch trial, but were really not allowed to present a defense, to no one’s surprise. Ned Gowan (Bill Paterson) did try though. It got to a point where he told the women he could really only save Claire if she renounces Geillis. She refuses of course. Geillis says 1968 to Claire, reveals her smallpox vaccine scar to the crowd, and shouts to the mob that she is the witch. Claire was whipped until my hero, I mean her hero, Jaime (Sam Heughan) comes and saves her. I really hope Laoghaire (Nell Hudson) gets hers for arranging this in order to get Jaime for herself.

| Massive Metal Monday: Meshuggah “New Millenium Cyanide Christ”
Sweden’s Meshuggah may be the most important metal band of the new millennium. Their use of polyrhythms, 8-string guitars, extremely low tunings and nontraditional song structures have pushed heavy metal into new and uncharted territories. The entire genre known as Djent (so named for the song that the muted strings and chugging rhythms produce) owes its existence to Meshuggah’s sonic exploration and experimentation. If one can judge a band’s influence by the sheer amount of imitators, then we need look no further than this song lyric by metal legend Devin Townsend in his song “Planet of the Apes”:

Air Date: Monday, April 27th, 2015, 8pm Last week’s Gotham thrilled and chilled us. Here’s a recap of “Under The Knife” before this week’s review. Beware! There are a few spoilers after the recap. The quirky little Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) we know and love is gone. He got a taste for blood when he butchered Ms. Kringle’s handsy boyfriend. I did not even recognize him, and not because his hair was different and he had no glasses on. He was a maniac killer, enjoying it. Jim (Ben McKenzie) will not back off even though The Ogre called him and warned him. Why should he worry? He made sure Lee (Morena Baccharin) was safe. Barbara (Erin Richards) is not though.
