Last week on The Lizzie Borden Chronicles, the tableau I mentioned really was art. Isabel (Olivia Llewellyn), sprawled, newly killed on the bed, with Spencer’s head tucked neatly between her legs. That’s not the kind of thing you can unsee. The lesson here is… check behind doors when you hear a suspicious noise. When Lizzie (Christina Ricci) was revealed behind that door, I screamed “Run!” at the TV. And even though Hilliard (Jeff Wincott) had been with Siringo (Cole Hauser) pretty much the whole time, it seems Siringo is damned. I KNEW she was dead meat as soon as she and Siringo hit the hay, and talked of the future. They will not get a happy ending. That is not this show.

One thing that is surprising is how long Skipjack (Bradley Stryker) has lasted. I pegged him to be offed in Episode 2.

Check out the “Body Count” video and the clip from last week’s episode below.

The Lizzie Borden Chronicles 1.6 “Fugitive Kind” review: Everything comes to a bloody head this episode. I mean… I had an idea that it was coming, based on what I know about this show coming to life, how things were left off last episode, and in getting to know this fascinating character. But I really did not anticipate all of the shocks. People have been dropping like flies. Everyone knows it is her. But the episode opens with Siringo’s trial. He is actually being tried for Isabel and Spencer’s murders. The trial was really funny too. The lawyer asked Lizzie if she was responsible for the deaths of her parents (yes), Isabel (yes), Spencer (yes), Nance (yes), Adele (yes), Mr. Flowers (yes), brother William (yes), and her neighbor (yes). Lizzie’s answer was always no. Really? Judge, jury, lawyers, court of peers – really? I know she isn’t the one on trial, but really?

You can probably guess on the jury’s verdict. This is not exactly CSI, all evidence during that time had to be circumstantial.

The situation between Leslie (Dylan Taylor), Emma (Clea DuVall), and a very jealous Lizzie, comes to a surprising conclusion – twice. Emma’s actions throughout this episode was very much against her usual nature, and I was glad for it… most of it.

“Can you file these for me Simkins?” Caught that.

OK. The end of this episode kinda blew my mind. It seemed to close the full circle. I can see how this would have been a satisfying ending to the series. What could they possibly do in episodes 7 and 8?

Well, I’m gonna stick around and find out.

The Lizzie Borden Chronicles airs Sundays at 10 PM ET on Lifetime.
