Fox is making one last marketing push to promote the odd Fantastic Four. The film has gone through a few marketing struggles, with some acting uninterested after seeing the first twotrailers, while some dedicated fans expressed their outrage towards how the marketing team descriptions changed the team’s powers.
In just a few weeks, though, the film will come out, and the studio has released one final trailer (which happens to be the same trailer shown at Comic-Con) to convince us that this is the Fantastic Four that fans have been waiting for. Check out the trailer below.
As we heard from the panel at Comic-Con, the reboot will be a more grounded and character-driven film with an emphasis on the familial aspect of the titular heroes. The team is actually considered Marvel’s first superhero family. This new trailer is more action-packed, but also teases at the bonds shared between each of the characters. At the very beginning of this trailer we see that Reed and Ben have been life-long friends.
Though we’ve known that Doom has been a constant threat to the Fantastic Four in both the comics and the first two films, the trailers for the reboot fail to explain his motivation or why he decides to create a new world in his image.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
Starring Miles Teller as Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara as Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman, Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm aka the Thing, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch, the all new rebooted Fantastic Four is directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle), and is produced and co-written by Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse). The film also stars Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Wrath of the Titans) as Doctor Doom, Reg E. Cathey (The Wire, House of Cards) as Johnny and Sue’s dad Franklin Storm, and Tim Blake Nelson (The Incredible Hulk, O Brother Where Out Thou) as Harvey Elder (aka the future Mole Man).
Fox will release the Fantastic Four into theaters on August 7, 2015.
This looks like a pile of crap. As does their version of The Thing. (why is he naked and lacking genitals?) I hope this bombs and the rights revert to Marvel where these characters belong.

Yeeeah…still not sure about this re-imagining. Trailer still looks sloppy.
