The villains are certainly rising on Gotham… faster and faster it seems. FOX has released another villains teaser, along with some retrospectives from actors Sean Pertwee, Donal Logue, and Robin Lord Taylor on their characters.

The most striking aspect of the villains video is the blood and the laughter. We see the same villains as the other villain clips, but this one is more ominous, with flecks of blood on the face of Tabitha aka Tigress (Jessica Lucas), as well as on Jerome aka Joker (Cameron Monaghan). We see more of my dearest Nygma (Cory Michael Smith), as he descends further into madness. And Barbara (Erin Richards) is full on in the category of villains. Can she be saved?

The three “Look Back” clips are interesting, because these actors live inside these complex characters. Pertwee explains how Alfred’s past was revealed through Reginald (the wonderful David O’Hara) in “Red Hood.” Before that we did not know the extent of Alfred’s capabilities.

Logue talks about the other characters: “I got the most joy out of watching what other people were doing.”

I really enjoy watching Robin Lord Taylor videos. You know he doesn’t need much makeup to look like Penguin. I can imagine the casting directors just looked at him and said, “You’re hired.” He truly is “the king of Gotham.”

Gotham premieres Monday, September 21st, at 8pm ET on FOX.
