Deadpool 2 Domino

Given how Deadpool was a huge success, it comes as no surprise that Fox is moving ahead with Deadpool 2. Those who stuck around for the after-credits sequence were given a small treat when the title character told the audience that Cable would be in the sequel. While details on who could play Cable are still sketchy, there is a new report saying who director Tim Miller has his eyes on to play the role of Domino.

According to this new report, Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane), Sienna Miller (High Rise), Sofia Boutella (Star Trek Beyond), Stephanie Sigman (Spectre), and Sylvia Hoeks (Blade Runner 2049) are all on the shortlist to play Domino. More on the story below.

Collider was the first to break the news. According to their sources, there are other actresses who are also in contention, but Caplan, Winstead, Miller, Boutella, Sigman, and Hoeks have tested or will test for the role.

Domino’s powers include subconscious telekinetic probability manipulation. Basically she is able to affect probability in her favor, making it all the more likely that she will kill her target. While this makes her the perfect assassin, her powers does have its limitations as she is only able to hit improbable targets, not impossible ones.

As for the potential actresses who could play the role, they come from a wide range of fame. Winstead’s best known for her roles in Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and most recently 10 Cloverfield Lane, and can next be seen in season 3 of Fargo.

Caplan, who starred in the original Cloverfield, had a major role in Now You See Me 2 and currently stars in Masters of Sex.

Miller has starring roles in Burnt, American Sniper, and High-Rise.

Those three have longer resumes as well as some experience in action films. The remaining three are relative newcomers whose stock are currently on the uptick.

Boutella has been making waves starring in Kingsman: The Secret Service and most recently Star Trek Beyond. She can next be seen playing the Mummy alongside Tom Cruise in the reboot of The Mummy as part of the new Universal Classic Monsters shared universe.

Sigman appeared as a Bond girl in Spectre, but also has roles in Netflix’s Narcos and the horror flick Annabelle.

While Hoeks is not a household name yet, she will be seen alongside Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling in Blade Runner 2049.

While Deadpool 2 doesn’t have a release date yet, production on the sequel is set to begin sometime in 2017.
