Last week on The Flash, we finally got the Savitar reveal – messed up face Barry Allen (Grant Gustin). Joe pushed Cecile (Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Nicolet) away, but then fixed it, revealing all to her. Cisco and Killer Frost (Carlos Valdes, Danielle Panabaker) kept going soft on each other. The team found Tracy Brand (Anne Dudek) and told her the future. HR (Tom Cavanagh) had a crush.

Spoilers below.

The Flash 3.21 “Cause And Effect” review: He talks to himself – a time remnant. “God feels no pain.” Scarred Barry was the remnant that Savitar let live. The gang shunned the aberration. He was “broken and alone.” That’s why Iris has to die, so Barry can go into the dark. Killing himself like Eddie won’t work. Barry tries to fight his remnant, but the suit gets up and attacks.

Barry goes back and tells everyone. It’s a closed loop – no beginning and no end. Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) doesn’t get why the remnant would want to kill Iris (Candice Patton). It is understandable why Killer Frost followed him, though.

Barry and Iris talk. He thinks that power and pain is in there – from losing Iris.

Cisco has the best worst idea ever. He’s going to stop him from “making new memories.” They give him a zap and he remembers nothing. “Who’s Barry?” I already am in love with this episode. He is freaking out.

Tracy Brand and HR are falling in love over coffee. He tries to resist her “azure” eyes and fails miserably.

Amnesia Barry might be my favorite Barry aka “Bart.” He’s so funny! And Iris is so happy to see him so “light.” They share a really nice time over coffee. But Cecile is freaking out. Barry is supposed to testify.

The plan sorta worked. Savitar has amnesia too. He picks up Killer Frost by the neck. “Who am I?”

Barry screws up a court case, despite Julian (Tom Felton) and Cisco’s magic glasses, so an arsonist goes free. Iris and Barry go home and we get treated to a new, sweet “Biris.” His speed kicks in and she has to tell him.

They go to S.T.A.R. Labs where Killer Frost waits with the rest of them to fix him so Savitar is fixed and Wally gets his powers back. Cisco reminisces and it’s affecting her, but she pretends it doesn’t. This might be the sweetest thing I have ever seen.

Joe gives the dad talk to Iris, saying Barry’s tragedies define him, but she tends to disagree. Elsewhere in town, the arsonist strikes. Amnesia Barry runs to save the day but is clueless. The team tries to zap through the communicator, and Iris zaps his heart with a memory.

Barry’s back!

Wally is back!

Savitar is baaackkk…. Er…

Julian professes his love for Caitlin and she rejects him. Poor Julian.

Tracy and HR unveils the Speedforce Bazooka. It needs more energy than the sun. Where can they get that? Cue King Shark. Awesome!

This was an incredible episode with bunches of awesome at every turn. Even the Iris and Wally parts which I usually don’t find as fun as the others worked really well. Episode 3.21 had every single character at their best. It was fun, teary, dangerously exciting – just everything one could ask for. Definitely one of the best (sorry-musical). Two more episodes and I cannot even imagine how they are going to pack so much goodness into such little time. Knowing my Flash, they will do just fine.

Some thoughts:

– “I hate spinoffs.” Ha ha, Cisco!

– “You wanna give me a perm?”

– “Is this a dentist’s office?”

– “How do we afford to live here?” Exactly, Bart!

– Oh my god. Cisco is so adorable when he smiles as he teases Killer Frost.

– I got teary when they were reminiscing to try and reach the Caitlin inside Killer Frost.

– Next week, Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) is back. Hooray!

The Flash airs Tuesday nights at 8:00pm ET on The CW.
