Daredevil, Volume 1: Devil at Bay

In a development so stunning it made me drop a cup of coffee on my foot this morning, Daredevil – the self-proclaimed nocturnal protector of Hell’s Kitchen (the neighborhood in New York, not the cooking show with that perpetually angry British dude) – has revealed that he has become a born again Christian and will no longer battle crime as Daredevil.

“I can no longer continue my fight against the criminal element of this city while dressed as a poorly-attired minion of the dark lord Satan,” Daredevil said to the assembled press early this morning. “I am now….Risk-Averse Angel!”

U Umlaut

A town hall debate today that included Republican frontrunners Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, which was to have focused on what was referred to as “an attack on America’s core values,” took a strange turn when the two contenders actually joined together for a 40-minute rant about the dangers of the umlaut.

Yes, you read that correctly. The umlaut. For more information, continue reading.

In all areas of the consumer world, money rules supreme. And no company knows that more than DC Entertainment. Deadpool Header

Ryan ReynoldsDeadpool will sever ties with the soft and tame version of the character we saw in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, by giving a real unfiltered representation of the character, in an all new film appropriately titled Deadpool. Though there has yet to be a confirmation, Deadpool is expected to have a panel at Comic-Con. This only make sense since Bryan Singer says he will stop by to reveal some footage of X-Men: Apocalypse. But just in case there isn’t a panel, Fox has released a brand new image revealing the title character giving some drivers major headaches, by causing a little traffic. Reynolds also reveals the intimate thing he wants to do with the person who leaked the Deadpool test footage.

Read his comments as well as check out the new image below.

Bob Barker Returns To The Price Is Right

I’m usually fond of most holidays and celebrating them and being festive and such. April Fools’ Day is not one of those holidays. In fact, one could consider me the Scrooge McDuck of that particular holiday (or regular Scrooge, if you want to be less awesome). I would delete it from existence if I had the god powers to do so.

Anyway! One thing great that did happen among the mess of trickery and pranks yesterday was the one and only Bob Barker returning to The Price is Right in a surprise appearance when current host Drew Carey was announced. And as you might have guessed, the place went totally nuts.

You can check out a video of Barker’s return to hosting duties below, as well as a cool behind the scenes with Barker and Carey taking some questions from the audience.

Wonder Woman's invisible jet

The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. unveiled a special limited exhibition today in honor of April Fools’ Day that was sure to delight comic book fans and lovers of a good joke alike: Wonder Woman‘s famous invisible jet.

The iconic aircraft that DC Comics’ legendary Amazonian superhero used for transportation was displayed in the museum’s Boeing Milestones of Flight Hall; in order to make enough room, both SpaceShip One and Charles Lindbergh’s “Spirit of St. Louis” had to be temporarily relocated. Museum staff also had to take certain steps to ensure the exhibit was a resounding success.

You can see a video about the display below.

Deadpool Bearskin

Today is a day filled around the web with all kinds of April Fool’s Day articles, and it is also the perfect time for FOX to address Deadpool‘s rating controversy. There was some worry that the character, who has been known to shoot his mouth off with all sorts of vulgar statements, might have to be toned down for a more family-friendly PG-13 rating. This wouldn’t sit well with fans, as not even Deadpool himself would settle for something as mundane as a PG-13 rating.

Now a new video interview between film star Ryan Reynolds and Extra‘s Mario Lopez hopes to calm some of those fears down with some answers and a few laughs. Hit the jump to check it out.

April Fool's Day review

April Fool’s Day
Directed by Fred Walton
Written by Danilo Bach
Produced by Frank Mancuso, Jr.
Starring Deborah Foreman, Griffin O’Neal, Clayton Rohner, Jay Baker, Pat Barlow
Paramount Pictures
DVD | Instant Video
Original release dates: March 27, 1986

It only feels appropriate today to discuss one of the truly original horror films of one of the most unoriginal eras in horror history. The 1980s churned out hundreds of slasher films with disturbingly similar plots and characters. And since 1974’s Black Christmas, it felt every holiday got its own horror film; including Halloween, New Year’s Evil, and My Bloody Valentine. So it only made sense in 1986 to make another seasonal slasher: April Fool’s Day.

Directed by Fred Walton, a horror aficionado whose 1979 When a Stranger Calls contains one of the great openings in horror history, April Fool’s Day is possibly the most unique thriller of the 80s, and an inspiration for the self-referential horror films in the mid-90s. The story is about Muffy St. John (Deborah Foreman), a rich teenager who is having a birthday bash in her island mansion. The most 80s group of friends show up to ferry over for the party. There’s the stoner guy, the hot popular couple, the blonde bimbo, the jock looking to score (a hilarious post Back to the Future Biff Tannen aka Thomas F. Wilson), and of course Harvey (Jay Baker) the Michael J. Fox-esque young Republican in training.
