The Mandalorian Star Wars

The third day of Star Wars Celebration brought us our first look at Disney+’s The Mandalorian. From The Jungle Book and Iron Man director Jon Favreau, the first ever live-action Star Wars TV show will “follow the travels of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic…” Though that seemed a bit vague at the time, we knew it would follow the title character and the field of bounty hunting.

So Favreau, Dave Filoni, and castmembers Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, and Carl Weathers took to the stage to talk about the inspiration, their approach to the show, and talk about some of the characters that we will see. Check it out here below.

Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany in Avengers: Infinity War

For a long time, we’ve heard about how the Marvel Cinematic Universe will expand into television on Disney’s streaming subscription service, Disney+. One of the first shows to be announced was Loki, which would star Tom Hiddleston as the titular character on a show that would have Quantum Leap vibes. Next up, Falcon and Winter Soldier, and Scarlet Witch and Vision. These would focus on these pairs in new stories that would take place after Avengers: Endgame. Additionally, there would be Marvel Studios’ first animated show called What If, and the newly announced Hawkeye show that will bring back Jeremy Renner to play the title character who will teach Kate Bishop how to be an Avengers archer.

Now, during an investors meeting, Disney confirmed that Falcon and Winter Soldier, and the Scarlet Witch and Vision show which is now being called WandaVision, are being added to their Marvel Studios television lineup. More on the report below.

Yesterday was Investors Meeting Day at Disney, and some of the big questions on everyone’s mind were: what will be on Disney+, their new subscription-based streaming service, how much will it cost, and when it will be available? Well, a lot of those questions were answered. In addition to the more than 7,500 episodes and 500 films from their library, subscribers will have access to all things Disney, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, NatGeo, and so much more. And this will all cost potential subscribers a price that is much cheaper than Netflix’s $8.99.

At the meeting, it was announced that Disney+ will cost $6.99 per month and $69.99 annually for a premium subscription. And the service is set to launch this November. More on all of this below.

What If Marvel

Almost every Marvel fan has had a “What if?” crossover thought run through their mind. This reached its peak during the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe when X-Men and Fantastic Four were over at Fox, and Spider-Man was at Sony. The latter did find its way over eventually; and with Disney acquiring Fox, the former has become a reality. But even with most of the Marvel characters – Sony still has the rights to Spider-Man supporting characters and villains – under one umbrella, some characters have yet to interact with each other.

That’s where What If? comes in. For those who have been wondering what if Spider-Man joined the Fantastic Four, or what if Captain America did not disappear during World War II, then your questions will be answered in a new animated TV series set to stream on Disney+ based on those comic book titles. More on the report below.

It’s official. The Disney+ Marvel shows will be connected to the MCU.

Now, that may sound familiar in terms of how connected Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the now cancelled Netflix Marvel shows are. But this time, it appears to be true. At least, according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. More on the report below.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

Disney will have no trouble finding any TV series for their new streaming service Disney+. Along with Disney, Pixar, and Marvel titles, they also have access to Star Wars, which gives more people a reason to add yet another subscription to their bills. And with film production simmering down, there is the possibility that some titles that were being groomed for a theatrical release could be remodeled for a TV format.

Case in point, Obi-Wan Kenobi. A film centered around the character had been in development, and was rumored to be a part of the spinoffs that Disney and Lucasfilm would have released. However, in the wake of Solo: A Star Wars Story‘s under performance at the box office, it looks like the Jedi knight will find a new home. More on the report below.

Loki

Disney’s shows for its upcoming streaming service, Disney+, are already shaping up to be something worth watching, especially on the Marvel front.

And now one writer behind a very hilarious show is being brought in to act as showrunner for one of them. According to various reports, Rick and Morty writer Michael Waldron will be the showrunner for the untitled Loki show. A nice pairing when you think about it considering all of the humor the Adult Swim show is known for and Loki’s penchant for mischief. More on the report below.
