Eddie Redmayne Passionately Defends Hufflepuff

When it comes to the Harry Potter franchise’s four Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry houses, most of the attention goes to Gryffindor and Slytherin. Fellow houses Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw always seem to take a backseat to the main two.

But the first movie in the Harry Potter spinoff series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in theaters today, and star Eddie Redmayne is having none of this second-rate house nonsense. The actor made a public service announcement video recently, in which he passionately defends the Hufflepuff name, even using a couple of naughty words which would no doubt make Fat Friar blush.

See what Redmayne had to say in the video below.

Though the adventures of Harry Potter may have come to an end, J.K. Rowling’s legacy lives on. Now fans will be getting at five new spinoffs that expand the Harry Potter universe starting with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a prequel that is set decades before the events of the phenomenon that started it all. While I wasn’t a fan of the original books and never really got into the films themselves, Fantastic Beasts is whimsical and fun, and manages to address a few relevant themes that affect us all. One thing is for sure, it will give anyone without any prior knowledge of the books or films a reason to look at why Harry Potter has remained popular all these years.

A majority of social media were unhappy with this idea, but the die had already been cast. With four more sequels on the way, we know that Grindelwald’s relationship with Dumbledore, who is being cast as we speak, will play a key role in Fantastic Beasts 2.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Eddie Redmayne

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be the first Harry Potter spinoff to be released since the film series came to an end in 2011. The adventures of the spinoff will continue for at least four more films as Warner Bros announced that Fantastic Beasts will be part one of a five-part series. Announcements like those are not entirely uncommon as studios have a tendency to confirm sequels and larger franchises based on how the film is testing.

Another good measurement of success is how well the film tracks, and according to new reports, the Harry Potter-spinoff is on course to have a $75 million opening in the US. Check out the full story below.

Harry Potter

Harry Potter is returning in a big way in 2016. Over the summer, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child hit bookstores and, in typical Potter fashion, was gone as soon as it hit store shelves. And for the film fans it gets even better. Nearly a decade after author J.K. Rowling’s final last Harry Potter novel was published and five years after the final Harry Potter film, fans will return to the wizarding world this November with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

In preparation for the new film, Warner Brothers has sent all 8 previous Harry Potter films back into theaters in IMAX. You can see the films at your leisure for only $6 each, or you can spend the day with Harry, Ron, and Hermione with a $20 day pass, or the $30 event pass which gets you in any time for the week.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

After the release of eight Harry Potter films, Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling are now venturing into the wizardry world of spinoff sequels. Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them centers on Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), a magizoologist arriving in mid-1920s New York for a brief stop after documenting fantastic beasts around the globe. However, a no-maj (the American version of a muggle) accidentally lets the beasts loose. The studio just held a global fan event where attendees got to see a sneak peek of the upcoming film. But that wasn’t the only surprise. News broke that there will be a total of five Fantastic Beast films that will be released in the future.

Check out more on the story below.
