Disney Dates Indiana Jones 5 and More

Walt Disney Studios’ future continues to look bright, even if they have to reschedule some of their more popular titles. They’ve got their own titles, Pixar, Marvel Studios, and Lucasfilm. It’s hard not to have success with those properties at your disposal.

And now you can expect to see some schedule shifting. Indiana Jones 5 is now moving all the way up to 2021. Not only that but Maleficent 2, Mary Poppins Returns, Jungle Cruise, and a Marvel mystery movie have all gotten release dates as well. To find out all about them, check out the full report below.

Mary Poppins Returns

It has been 54 years since Mary Poppins gave the world her valuable lessons and wondrous magic. Now Disney, the studio that first brought us the film adaptation, is ready to give us an update of the eponymous English nanny with a new semi-sequel titled Mary Poppins Returns. This time Emily Blunt plays the titular character that was first portrayed by Julie Andrews.

2018 will be a massive year for Walt Disney Studios. In addition to their animated and live-action content, they also have Marvel Studios and Star Wars. So it is safe to say that we will be busy until the end of 2018. And what better way to ring in the new year than to give you a brief tease of what’s to come.

The studio has previewed upcoming films like Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, and Ant-Man and the Wasp from Marvel Studios, The Incredibles 2 from Pixar, Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 from Walt Disney Studios Animation, and Mary Poppins Returns, A Wrinkle in Time, and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms from Walt Disney Studios, which includes some new images. As a part of the Disney live-action portion of the D23 Expo, we got to learn a little bit more about Mary Poppins Returns. So far, the mass public has seen only promotional images, so everyone was on edge to see some real footage, which would be a first for everyone in attendance. The film is considered a sequel to the original, with Emily Blunt now playing the titular character. In it, we will see her help the Banks family in their desperate time of need once more. Director Rob Marshall joined Blunt on the stage to talk about the film and share the very first footage.

P.L. Travers may not have been a fan of her Marry Poppins novels being turned into a film, but Disney’s Mary Poppins has left behind a legacy that makes the adaptation one of the greatest Disney films of all time. It has been 53 years since the release of the musical, and now, in a day and age where sequels are the norm, Disney is following up Mary Poppins with Mary Poppins Returns, starring Emily Blunt as the title character.

It will be a while before we see anything substantial, but the film does come out this year, leaving a few wondering when we will see anything. Well, after the studio dropped that teaser photo a few months back, three new images have popped online. Check it out below.

We are still over a year away from the release of Mary Poppins Returns, the sequel to the 1964 musical hit Mary Poppins. Based on PL Travers‘ works, the film follows the title character as she returns to London to help Michael rediscover joy after he suffers a personal heavy loss. Emily Blunt takes on the title role once played by Julie Andrews, and she will be accompanied by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Meryl Streep. Production for Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns has begun. Directed by Rob Marshall (Into The Woods), the sequel to the 1964 musical will see the return of the title character (now played by Emily Blunt) as she re-enters the lives of the Banks’ children, who are now older, after Michael (Ben Whishaw) suffers a personal loss. Earlier this year Disney released a schedule of yet-to-be-announced film. Given the string of successful live-action adaptations and reboots the studio has gone through recently, it’s no surprise that they would be announcing release dates early on. One of those live-action films Disney has in store for us is the sequel to the 1964 film Mary Poppins.

Now the studio has announced an official title, Mary Poppins Returns, and a release date for the film. The film, which will star Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda, is expected to hit theaters in December 2018. More on the story below.
