Marvel's Iron Man Fireplace

Videos of a fireplace to put on your TV or computer screen this time of year is nothing new. You can even find a few on Netflix. Even without the added benefit of providing heat, they’re relaxing and make wherever you are feel more like home.

If you’re a geek looking for a nice cracklin’ fire to put on in the background while working or hanging out with friends and family, Marvel has you covered. They’ve released a collection of videos of the fireplaces in various Marvel heroes’ homes. Each is just over an hour long, and includes Captain America‘s Brooklyn apartment, Ms. Marvel‘s New Jersey home, Thor‘s Asgard home, Iron Man‘s Manhattan apartment, and the Guardians of the Galaxy‘s spaceship and its fancy futuristic fire. There’s also a second close-up version of each of these.

Find your perfect geeky fire below.

This is a week of comics that is dominated by one big release that everyone is going to be talking about, which is why we’re here. This is the perfect chance to talk about books that may get lost in the shuffle of a giant release, and that’s just what we’re going to do. Of course, I can’t just ignore that giant release either, so I’m going to get into that shortly. It’s a week of dreams, dreamers, and crazy worlds which sounds like just the kind of thing we like here on The GoD List!

The GoD List Banner

Each and every week, I, “Super Bowl Champ” Henchman21 and “Kitten Bowl Champ“ Empress Eve read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible… theoretically. Naturally, we look forward to some more than others. I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of our pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of February 5, 2014. Single issues and trades, they’re all here.

I hope you all enjoyed your Super Bowl Sundays, with your pizzas, and your chicken wings, and your yelling obscenities at a screen in the hopes of getting the attention of people who can’t hear you. Of course, the best part of the game was the trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which looks sweeeeeet. But enough about that, let’s talk about comics. This week’s picks are dominated by a couple of must-own hardcovers, four exciting new series from Marvel, and a few other odds and ends. So, let’s skip past the coin toss, avoid the boring post-game reactions, and run right into The GoD List!

Captain Marvel 2 Preview

Kelly Sue DeConnick and Dexter Soy reinvented Ms. Marvel as Captain Marvel in Captain Marvel #1. In that launch title for the new monthly book we learned why she decided to change her name and we got a glimpse of her past. All the news was of course about her new do – hairdo and costume, that is. The new design is quite a change from the Ms. Marvel that has been in The Avengers for the last few years.

Captain Marvel #2 promises to ramp up the action with the new Captain facing a challenge from her past as well as a new threat called the Banshee Squadron. Our review for issue #1 is coming soon so in the meantime, scroll on down to take a look at some early art from issue #2 as well as the cover art for the 2nd printing of issue #1!
