Westworld

HBO has announced that they will be building a “fully immersive, functional version” of the town of Sweetwater from their series Westworld for the 2018 South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas.

The re-production will include locations from the show like the Coronado hotel and the Mariposa Saloon. Those who register to check it out will be transported from downtown Austin to a location just outside the city where Westworld has been brought to life. From there they’ll be set free to explore, search for clues about the upcoming season two of the series, and even enjoy some food and drink fitting to the theme.

You can find all the information below, along with a teaser video for the SXSW experience, which may just be teasing a Roman World.

Westworld Season 2 Thandie Newton

From the ashes of the old world known as Westworld comes one that is ruled by the hosts. Season 1 of HBO’s Westworld ended with the robotic hosts being freed from the chains of their programming, and upon that freedom came an uprising against the guests who committed every act of violence known to man on them. With the hosts no longer playing victim to these sick games, it was about time that they rise up and took charge. And it is starting to look like that is what they are doing in the newly released trailer for Westworld Season 2 that dropped last night during the Super Bowl. Check it out here below.

Westworld season 2 header

It’s still hard to imagine that we won’t be getting Season 2 of HBO’s Westworld this year. As disappointing as that sounds, Season 2 will premiere sometime in 2018. And though the show is currently in production, the cast and crew of Westworld were at SDCC this weekend to “talk” about what they’ve been up to. They even had some new footage to show in a new trailer. Check it out here below.

Robert Mclachlan Game of Thrones

Robert McLachlan has been behind a camera for over 30 years. Throughout much of the 1990s and 2000s, he was the Director of Photography on series like The Commish and Millennium before working on a number of films, many in the horror genre (Final Destination 1 & 3, Willard etc). In the last few years McLachlan filmed some of TV’s most epic scenes, as DoP on the hit HBO show Games of Thrones for a number of episodes, as well as HBO’s latest hit Westworld and Showtime’s Ray Donovan. I got a chance to speak to McLachlan last weekend to talk about his career and role in making these modern classics.

Check out the interview below.
